Eugenio and Emiliano Mirafuentes join the DCBank Pro Cycling Team

Vancouver, BC – U23 riders Eugenio and Emiliano, brothers from Nuevo Leon, Mexico, who have both represented Mexico in numerous international competitions join the DCBank Pro Cycling Team for the 2019 season. Although they are both first year U23 riders, both Eugenio and Emiliano have significant international experience in the sport.

Emiliano (Sprinter) is the current U23 Mexican National Road Champion, Pan Am Points Race Champion and stage winner at Tour de l’Abitibi. “My goal with the team is to start in a good way our pro career. I am very thankful with the team because they are not putting pressure on us at all, but the completely opposite, they are showing us the path to be successful as cyclists and human beings,” said Emiliano.

Eugenio (Climber) represented Mexico at the 2018 U19 UCI Road World Championships in Innsbruck Austria, is the current Scratch Race National Champion, 2017 KOM Jersey in French Junior UCI Nations Cup and finished in 4th place in Stage 2 of Swiss Junior UCI Nations Cup. “To have the opportunity to be part of this team is a dream for my brother and I to start our professional careers. I’m excited to work and race together to achieve common goals during the next season. I will be always grateful for them,” said Eugenio.

Emiliano and Eugenio are young riders, but have shown that they have the talent to potentially be the next riders out of Mexico to be racing at the World Tour level one day. Emiliano will bring the closing sprint that the team has been looking for and Eugenio will be a key asset in winning climbing stages and sheltering our GC riders over the climbs.

Stay tuned for further rider announcements as the team gears up for 2019.
