Garrett’s passion for bikes started at a very young age. He grew up mountain biking with his dad in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia and entered his first bike race when he was 11. The supportive cycling community in Nova Scotia helped nurture him into a national level athlete. As a teenager, Garrett split his year focusing on downhill ski racing in the winter, and cycling in the summer. After the 2007 Winter Canada Games, he decided to concentrate exclusively on cycling. Garrett raced for the elite amateur Team H&R Block throughout his engineering degree, and has since focused completely on cycling. Garrett has competed in Europe and North America with the Canadian National team, most recently representing Canada at the Tour of Alberta and Montreal Quebec World Tour events.
